RIP Old Kitchenaide Mixer

Monday, April 6, 2009

It's Here! It's Here! Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus! My most prized kitchen gadget passed this last week after 12 years. I've moved on to bigger and better now. My new mixer makes the old mixer look like a toy. I'm so glad I have cake orders tonight!

Tomato Basil Dip

Sunday, April 5, 2009

2 Packs Cream Cheese, room temperature
1 Jar Medium Salsa
1/2 Cup diced Sun Dried Tomatoes
1 Tablespoon Oregano
1 Tablespoon Basil
Mix all of the ingredients in a mixer and serve. It's even better if it chills for two hours. It is great for a dip, sandwhich spread, etc. Hosting a party? Carve a cabbage into a bowl. Cheap and easy clean up and it's a little unexpected!

Death by Chocolate Cupcakes

Ingredients:
1 Box of Chocolate Cake Mix
1 Can Pumpkin
1/2 Bag Mini Chocolate Morsels
3/4 Cup Water

Combine ingredients and fill cupcake pan and bake according to box directions. Don't add any of the ingredients on the box....just add the pumpkin, water, and chocolate chips. After they've cooled, top with your favorite frosting.......these are so good, they don't need frosting!

Cornfetti Salad

Looking for something different for your backyard BBQ? Try our Cornfetti Salad!

Ingredients:

1/2 Green Bell Pepper

1/2 Red Bell Pepper

1/2 Yellow Bell Pepper

1/2 Orange Bell Pepper

1/2 Purple Onion

2 cans yellow corn, drained

2 cans white corn, drained

1 Cup Mayonnaise

1/2 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar

Celery Salt -- to taste

To Make: Dice the veggies with your food processor. You can do it by hand, but that's just too much work for me!

Once the veggies are diced, add the other ingredients. Chill for two hours prior to eating.
